Well Done

I hope when all is said and done
We’re standing side by side,
With eyes fixed on the only One
On whom we have relied.

I hope I’m there to hear Him say,
“You gave it all to me.
You gave me every bit of time
And all your energy.

“You walked the path of life that I
Laid out before your feet,
And now the joy has filled your eyes
As face-to-face we meet.

“You took your life and laid it down.
You knew that it was mine.
You’ve run the race, you’ve gained the crown
You’ve crossed the finish line.”

I hope I see that in your face
There shines a glorious light,
For what you always knew by faith–
You know it now by sight.

I hope that then, you say out loud,
“My Lord, the road felt long.
I stumbled in the way but now
Those weary nights are gone.

“Your wisdom led me in that path
So I’d be sanctified.
And now, I’m glad for every step,
For now I’m satisfied.”

I hope we feel that weight of glory
When Jesus says, “Well done.
You’re cleansed, you’re loved, you’re home, you’re free,
My good and faithful one.”
